How we use Artificial Intelligence in your care preparation

Introduction

PrepX Medical, Inc. ("PrepX Medical", "we", "us", "our") operates PrepNavigator (prepnavigator.ai), a medical procedure preparation management platform. This page explains how we use Artificial Intelligence in your care preparation, what data is processed, and your rights. By using AI features within the Service, you acknowledge the practices described below.

Section 1 — AI-Powered Preparation Assistant

PrepNavigator includes an AI-powered chat assistant to help answer questions about your upcoming procedure preparation. This assistant is powered by Amazon Bedrock (AWS), a HIPAA-compliant AI service covered under a Business Associate Agreement.

What the AI assistant does:

Answers general questions about your procedure preparation
Provides guidance on diet, timing, and medications based on your specific protocol
Offers 24/7 support for preparation-related questions
Directs you to contact your care team or call 911 for urgent concerns

What the AI assistant does NOT do:

Make clinical diagnoses or treatment decisions
Replace advice from your physician or care team
Store or retain your conversation after your session ends
Access your complete medical history

Section 2 — Data Processing & Privacy

AI chat conversations are processed in real-time by Amazon Bedrock (AWS)
Conversations are NOT recorded, stored, or retained after your session ends
Your conversations are NEVER used to train AI models
No conversation history is saved to our database
All AI processing occurs within HIPAA-compliant AWS infrastructure covered under BAA
Preparation context (procedure date, protocol, medications) is shared with the AI only within your active session

Section 3 — Document Processing

When your healthcare provider uploads your medical documents (H&P):

AI technology extracts relevant information such as medications, conditions, and allergies
All AI-extracted information is reviewed and verified by licensed clinical staff before use
Document processing is covered under HIPAA BAA with AWS
Original documents are not retained beyond what is clinically necessary

Section 4 — Your Rights Regarding AI

You have the right to opt out of AI chat assistance at any time
All preparation instructions are available without using the AI assistant
You may request human review of any AI-processed information
You may contact your healthcare provider with concerns about AI use
PrepNavigator does not make clinical decisions using AI
All clinical decisions are made by your licensed healthcare provider
